James Dougherty, Esq.

James Dougherty is a lifelong resident of Greenwich with family roots in Town dating to pre-Revolution days.  Jim, a third-generation lawyer, has practiced law in town since 1983 and is the sole member of Dougherty Greenwich Legal LLC.

Jim has been involved with many local charities including: Greenwich Bar Association (President 1995), Greenwich Commission on Aging (Secretary 2014 - present), Transportation Association of Greenwich (Secretary 1998 - 2008), Greenwich Adult Day Care (Secretary 1985 - 1995), The Wild Geese (President 2008 - 2011), Greenwich Hibernian Association (Vice-President 2008 - present) and Greenwich Catholic Education Trust (Trustee 1990 - present).

Jim has received the following recognitions: Grand Marshal of the Greenwich St. Patrick’s Parade, Transportation Association of Greenwich Hall of Fame, Irish Legal 100, Small Business 50, Connecticut Super Lawyer, Top Lawyers in Connecticut, Irish Echo Community Champion.

Jim feels very fortunate in having grown up in Greenwich and believes it is important for him to give back to the community that has given him so much.
